The accused made his first appearance and was arraigned before the court on a count charge of Murder contrary to section 1 of the Offences Against The Person Act of 1861, as repealed and replaced by Section 1(a) to the schedule of the Abolition of The Death Penalty Act 2022, Act No 6 of 2022.

According to the indictment, the accused on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Mankneh Qcell Pole, Makeni City, murdered Massah Massaquoi.

Defense Counsel A.P Juah pleaded with the Magistrate to admonish the prosecution to ensure that they have a speedy trial as the offense levied against his client is serious.

Meanwhile, Magistrate Bangura refused to admit the accused on bail.

The matter was adjourned to October 21, 2024.
