Benjamin Menelik George, popularly known as Drizilik, a renowned local musician has on October 29, 2022 said that he would hold a concert promoting peace and love at Makeni City Plaza (His recent album).
He said that the show is part of his Ashobi’s World Tour.
According to Drizilik, the event would not only promote his music, but also promote unity among Sierra Leoneans from all works of life.
He said in Krio (the Lingua Franca), “Kam see mi bo, cuz ah wan see you! Ashobi,” which translates in English as, (come and see me in Makeni I would like to see you in your full ‘Ashobi’ dressings on the day of the event.)
Ashobi’ is a word making reference to clothing of the same design which could be sewn in the same or different fashion, worn as a way of showing a special bond and unity among all those who wear it.
Drizilik is among the most creative and influential singers presently in Sierra Leone.
He has been able to pull the attention of music lovers within and out of Sierra Leone to build a considerable fan-base with his lyrics and singing style.
It could be recalled that some years ago, he stormed Makeni City with his debut album titled: ‘Shukubly’.
Ahead of this show, Drizilik, has enlisted Noble Dad, a popular entertainer in Makeni, and his fans as well as other personalities in Showbizness in Sierra Leone on a massive publicity drive.
According to them, the forthcoming show will be unique in the history of Makeni. “We are in full support of you, Drizilik,” they said.
