Former Premier League Champions, East End Lions registered back-to-back wins for the first time in the ongoing Leone Rock Premier Football League by defeating Luawa FC 2-0 on Saturday at Trade Center.
The Killers’ curtain raiser came at the feet of Santigie Kargbo in the 55th minute before Alie Conteh doubled it later for a deserving win.
Lions’ Mohamed Kabba and Luawa’s Emmanuel Bangura were both sent off by the centre referee.
Last week, the Killers beat Diamond Stars 2-0 in Freetown. The two consecutive wins stands as a motivation going into the second round of the season.
In Magburaka, FC Kallon beat Kholifa Stars 1-0. Alhassan Kamara netted the winner for the Cavaliers in the 3rd minute to move to second place in the League standings.
In Port Loko, Freetonians SLIFA lost 1-0 by hosts Bai Bureh Warriors. Mohamed Kamara’s hit for the North-Westerners before the interval made the difference between the two sides.
At Attouga Field, Ports Authority drew 0-0 with Freetown City FC, while Diamond Stars were held to a 1-1 draw by Wusum Stars in Kono. Real Republicans also drew 1-1 with Old Edwardians at MK 3/10 Arena.
