Complementing the strides of the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE) to enhance productive learning outcomes through digitalization, internet connectivity, and AI, Ecobank Sierra Leone has made a significant contribution with its latest initiative. As part of this year’s Ecobank Day celebration, the bank donated a modern library to Awada School in Bo. Equipped with high-speed internet through Starlink satellite and AI-driven learning resources, the e-library serves as a modern education hub that aligns with the Ministry’s goals of fostering digital literacy and personalized learning.
Sheikh Omaru Jalloh, Head of Brand, Communications, and Marketing at Ecobank Sierra Leone, explained that this e-library builds on last year’s digital lab contribution, which provided students with 20 desktop computers, tables, chairs, and essential resources. “This e-library is another step toward empowering students with the skills they need in today’s digital age,” Jalloh said, noting that a similar facility was also established at YWCA Primary School in Freetown.
Hassan Bangura, MBSSE’s Regional Officer, praised Ecobank’s initiative and underscored its alignment with the Ministry’s objectives. “We are proud to see partners like Ecobank actively contributing to our mission of digitalizing education and broadening students’ access to vital learning resources,” Bangura said. He commended Awada School’s outstanding achievements and encouraged students to maximize the opportunity to excel in their studies.
Ecobank’s initiative reflects its commitment to transforming education through technology, ensuring that Sierra Leonean students have access to the tools they need to excel in an evolving digital landscape.
