Mohamed Mansaray, alias Lenox, an entertainer of 16-year experience in the east of Freetown has called on colleague entertainers to embrace love and help one another to foster growth in the entertainment business in Sierra Leone.
According to Lenox love and a commitment to helping one another is the only secret to success in the entertainment industry in Sierra Leone.
According to him, disunity only brings down the industry and its entertainers.
“Disunity among entertainers will always kill their dreams and frustrate them from reaching their set goals. If love is brought to the forefront irrespective of our race, tribes etc., we will surely grow no matter how hard it may be.
If you don’t love your brother, no matter how good he may be, you will never believe in what he does, and that will always pull us back,” he said.
He called on the Old Skool entertainers to encourage the New Skool and, encouraged the New Skool show respect for the Old Skool. “Actors, musicians, models etc. we all should be working together for the progress of Sierra Leone entertainment and no one should be left behind,” he said.
Lenox started a career in entertainment as a musician in 2007 after he had been inspired by his brothers.
He said that because entertainment provides opportunities for various career pursuits, he sought to increase his knowledge by learning how to edit and shoot movies and also how to do photo-shoots.
He said he had produced and edited several movies which included ‘The Leave of Life’, and ‘Trials of Fate’.
Lenox encourages musicians to endeavour to do research as much as possible. “Researching and collaborating with other entertainers will help individual grow. Not everyone is destined to work in the office. If one holds the entertainment with every seriousness, he may even earn money more than those in the offices. Entertainment develops individuals mentally and socially; it develops the nation economically and attracts tourists and investors also. So I appeal to the Government to lay more emphasis on this industry,” he concluded.
