Chairman of the Sierra Leone Film Industry, Labour and Marketing Guild (SL Film Guild), Daramy A. Komba on Saturday April 2, 2022 presented a his letter of resignation to the Entertainment Board which is chaired by the Special Envoy for Entertainment Kao Denero.
According to Kabba, he resigned from the board because of poor administration system.
“I believe my appointment to this board was based on organizational structure, integrity and my restless efforts towards the transformation and development of creative industry in Sierra Leone with the respect of representing filmmakers and film professionals in Sierra Leone. However, I am no longer able to continue with my responsibility as member of the board because of your inappropriate manner of administration and leadership style,” Kabba said in his letter.
“I also realized that I was removed from the board whatSapp group without any notification, which just confirm my assertion. I was appointed to represent people and not myself, so running an entertainment board like a personal property is something I will no longer be part of,” he said.
“I therefore, want to sincerely thank you for the opportunity, and I feel honoured to have served with other sector players with the hope of achieving a collective goal of promoting our creative industry in Sierra Leone. With this in mind, I want you to know that I am still passionate about the development of the Sierra Leone creative industry especially the film sector.”
