Amadu Wurie Timbo has been elected as the new Director the FOTTAL organization. Timbo’s victory in the recent Directorship and Chief Administrative elections at the FOTTAL Organization was nothing short of impressive. The election, which took place on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at the Fottal Organization’s headquarters, saw an incredible turnout with 28 out of 37 eligible delegates casting their votes.

Timbo secured a remarkable 85.7% of the vote share with 24 votes, demonstrating overwhelming support from the FOTTAL community. His opponent, Ibrahim Barrie, received 14.3% of the vote with 4 votes. With participation from both on-site and online delegates, Timbo’s widespread support shone through as he gained 11 out of 12 votes from the diaspora and online voters, and 13 out of 16 votes from the on-site polling center.

Timbo’s well-deserved victory speaks volumes about his dedication to the organization. With an impressive track record serving as an Ordinary Member and Project Officer for almost five years, Timbo has proven his commitment to the FOTTAL Organization.

After his win, Timbo extended his gratitude to his supporters and emphasized the importance of unity among the organization’s members to achieve collective goals.

In response, Ibrahim Barrie acknowledged the integrity of the election process and emphasized the need for collective effort towards the organization’s prosperity. He encouraged his supporters and the wider membership to fully support Timbo as the new leader.

The transition to Timbo’s administration will begin immediately following his election. He will be supported by Hasmieu Sall, who was elected unopposed as the Chief Administrator of FOTTAL. Both Timbo and Sall are ready to lead the organization for the next three years and are committed to implementing the organization’s Manifesto.
