Fottal Organization Inaugurates New Leadership in Vibrant Makeni Ceremony

Makeni, Sierra Leone — On Sunday, October 6, 2024, the Fottal organization, a prominent community-based group, celebrated the inauguration of its newly elected leaders at the Makeni City Council Hall. The colorful event, attended by high-profile stakeholders, saw Mr. Amadu Wurie Timbo take office as Executive Director and Mr. Hasmieu Sall as Chief Administrator, following the organization’s July 2024 elections.

The ceremony, chaired by Mr. Amadu Wurie Jalloh, brought together key figures such as Hon. Ibrahim Barrie, a Bombali District MP, and Makeni’s Mayor, His Worship Abubakarr Kamara. In his address, Mr. Timbo emphasized unity and collaboration as central to Fottal’s vision for positive change, calling on the Fullah youth to actively engage with the organization to tackle community challenges.

Highlighting Fottal’s contributions to the community, including a newly launched rescue team and educational support for members, Hon. Barrie praised the organization’s role in national development.
