Four Sentenced to Eight Months

Ibrahim Sorie Bangura, Magdalene Barrie, Kadiatu Conteh and Abu Bakarr Sankoh were on Friday, September 1, 2023, fined 800 thousand new Leones or serve eight months in prison after they pleaded guilty to the offence of being found at a place used for smoking “Kush” (K2) by Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Court No1.

The four accused were charged with being found at a place used for smoking Kush contrary to section 49(a) of The Pharmacy and Drug Act 2008.

While the first accused Kumba Mansaray and Zainab Kamara were arraigned on one count each of unlawful possession of Kush.

According to the charge, the Ibrahim Sorie Bangura, Magdalene Barrie, Kadiatu Conteh, Abu Bakarr Sankoh and  Messie Jusu on Wednesday, August 23, 2023,  at Regent Road, Lumley in Freetown were found at a place used for smoking Kush.

The police further alleged that Kumba Mansaray was found in possession of 31 wraps of Kush and Zainab Kamara was found with nine wraps without lawful authority.
