Four Suspects in Custody over Killing of Student

Four people have been held in custody  in connection with the killing  of Mohamed Kamara, a student of  the United Brethen in Christ (UBC) school in Bo, according to police sources.

An autopsy conducted on the remains of Kamara had shown that he died due to strangulation on Friday May 13, 2022. He deceased was in Junior Secondary School three (JSS3).

According to family sources, Mohamed Kamara was staying with his Uncle Amara Bunduka, after relocating from Kailahun to further his secondary school education.

On Wednesday, May 11, 2022, his grandfather Mualem Kengoh received a call from the primary suspect Amara Bunduka, informing him that his grandson Mohamed had stolen a phone from one Lansana Momoh. The grandfather alleged that he could hear beatings of his grandson during the conversation with Mr. Bunduka.

He said that he had pleaded for his grandson to be spared as he tried to make amends for the phone.

The next day, he was reading the Quran when he received a call from Mr. Bunduka, informing him that his grandson has died.

According to police and family sources, four suspects, including Amara Bunduka (prime suspect), his wife Mary Bunduka, Lansana Momoh who is the owner of the stolen phone, and one Alfred Harding are helping the police with the investigation. They have been accused of killing the Mohamed.

Another suspect, Basiru is on the run. His place of work, a carpentry shop, has been closed until his apprehension.
