Fifty year old Tenin Madeleine Mansace, a Ghanaian national has been dragged to court before Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba road court No1 for allegedly defrauding Deepate Bhurani an Indian National the sum of $ 425,000 US dollar over a 15, 000 metric ton business deal for cement .
The accused who happens to be the Manager of SISA SARL SL Ltd. is accused of obtaining money by false pretense.
According to the particulars of offence, the accused on a date between 8 September 2021 and 29 November 2021, in Freetown with intent to defraud obtaied from Deepate Bhurani the sum of $ 425,000 USD, the equivalent of Le 4,732,375, by falsely pretending that she had 15, 000 metrics tons of cement for sale which he will ship from Egypt to Sierra Leone.
The accused had been admitted to bail on the first adjourned date, but he has been in prison since then because he could not meet the terms of the bail he had been admitted to.
Defense counsel Jessie Jengo applied for the bail condition to be varied in order for his client to be able to access it.
Magistrate Ngegba however turned down the request of the defense counsel Jengo and adjourned the matter to the 27th of September 2022 for further hearing. The accused was thereafter taken to the female correctional facility.
