The National Public Health Agency (NPHA) and the Ministry of Health (MoH) have announced that all 290 contacts of a suspected Viral Hemorrhagic Fever (VHF) case in Kono have completed the 21-day observation period without displaying any signs or symptoms of the illness.
In addition, contacts from the Western Area have undergone 11 days of monitoring without any symptoms emerging. These individuals will continue to be observed for the remaining 21-day period as a precautionary measure, the health authorities said in the statement.
They reaffirmed their commitment to protecting public health and responding to potential disease outbreaks swiftly and effectively.
The health authorities urged the public to remain calm, follow health guidelines, and rely on updates from credible sources.
“We thank the public for their cooperation in ensuring the health and safety of our communities,” said Brig. Gen. Prof. Foday Sahr, Executive Director of the NPHA.
