High Court to Try Commercial Biker for Robbing Le 30,000,000

Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown has on Thursday October, 20 2022 sent for trial at the High Court a case in which a commercial biker named Michael Mansaray is accused of robbing Le 30, 000,000 from Joseph Keikula his victim.

The accused had been undergoing preliminary investigations at Magistrate Court No. 1, where Magistrate Marke Ngegba presides, for the charges of Conspiracy and Robbery with Aggravation.

According to the charge sheet the crimes allegedly took place on Saturday 4th June 2022 at Adonkia in Freetown, where the accused while armed with a machete and a knife robbed Joseph Keikula’s black back-pack containing the sum and then after used personal violence on him.

Sergeant 9155 Dwight Macarthy prosecuted the matter, and five witnesses testified in support of the case against the accused.

According to Magistrate Ngegba the testimonies of all the witnesses corroborated one another, including that of the exhibit Clerk Sergeant 8576 Issa Kamara, who tendered to the court the machete and knife the accused allegedly used in committing the crime.

Kamara testified that on the 23rd of June 2022 whilst on duty Deputy Police Constable 17970 M.S. Kamara gave him a black bag which contained a short trousers, a white pull over, a machete, a pen knife, culatape and some pictures which had since been in their custody as exhibit after they had been registered against serial number RCE 90/2022.

After DPC Kamara had tendered the exhibit, Magistrate Ngegba explained that the prosecution had led sufficient evidence against the accused person to warrant the matter to be  a committed at the High Court for trial.

He then committed the matter to the High Court without admitting the accused to bail.
