Idris Elba Takes Lead Character in New Movie, ‘Hijack’

Idris Elba, a popular British-Sierra Leonean actor, has recently taken a lead character in a new movie titled, ‘Hijack’. The film is about a group of passengers who hijacked a seven-hour flight from Dubai to London.

The movie is a thriller created by George Kay and Jim Field Smith, and 

it was recently premiered on Apple TV+.

Elba, played the role of Sam Nelson in the movie, serving as a talented business negotiator, who used his professional skills to achieve a peaceful end to the hijacking of the seven-hour flight from Dubai to London, thereby saving everyone on board.

In the movie, when Nelson boards he Kingdom Airlines flight KA29 from Dubai to London to return to his estranged wife, he encounters hijackers in the flight whose aim was to bring the aircraft under their control.

At the airport, Nelson convinces gate staff to allow fellow passenger Alec on after he narrowly misses the gate closing. After takeoff, a teenage passenger, Naomi, finds a bullet in the bathroom and tells Marcus, a friendly fellow passenger, about it. Marcus, secretly being part of the hijacking crew, informs leader Stuart and his colleagues to speed up the takeover. Using Glock 19 pistols hidden in toilet bags, several hijackers, speaking in English and Arabic, took control of the plane. After some time, they were able to access the cockpit by threatening Collette, the flight attendant.

However, before the Wi-Fi is turned off, Sam (Elba) was able to text his wife about the incident, who then passes it on to her boyfriend, DI Daniel Farrell, who works for the Metropolitan Police. After several hours of standoff between the hijackers and other passengers, Elba using his professional skills brings the situation to normal.

Elba is an English actor, Disc Jockey, singer and rapper who has acted on several movies, including ‘Stringer Bell’, ‘Long Walk to Freedom’, and many others.
