The Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah told journalists on Thursday that the two-day event seeks to celebrate Sierra Leone through civic consciousness, bringing together Sierra Leonean music, art, food, film, and many more.

“The event will provide a platform for ministries, departments and agencies as well as development partners to showcase success stories over the years and interact with the public and exchange ideas,” Bah said.

“The festival will also serve as a platform for the official launch of the National Civil Education Strategy,  and other key policies including the National Records and Archives, the National Film Policy, and the National Information  and Civic Education Policy.”

Bah said that the Salone Civic Festival will stimulate vibrant cultural celebrations, encourage national unity and foster civic pride and active citizenship.
