Judges of Housemate Award Scholarship to Contestant

Asmaa James, a Sierra Leonean award-winning broadcast journalist, and Natasha Beckley, Miss Sierra Leone 2011 and musician, who are both judges for housemate Salone Season 3 on Monday, March 21,2022 awarded  scholarship to aspiring Housemate contestant, Monica Admire Dumbuya.

The scholarship was awarded to the housemate aspirant as a result of her audition which she exhibited in a grand form of African.

Monica said being that she had been a Sierra Leonean and had come from Karene district, she had to show to the world that she was indeed a pure African. She stated that she was proud of her culture and pure identity as an African.

After Monica had been asked by the judges during her auditions of why she had wanted to participate in the show, she responded said young people being her priority, she would empower young people when she could have won the competition.

During the audition, Monica was asked when she sat to her WASSCE and whether she would like to continue. “I sat to my WASSCE in 2020. And I will like to continue my education,” she said.

As Monica’s expressions emotionally moved the Judges, Asmaa James felt amazed and stepped in to pay for her if she wanted to take her exams again. “I like your determination. For the fact that you came from Karene, and your desire is to help develop girls in such area, whether you make it to the House or not, if you want to take your exams again, I will pay for you,” said James.

Natasha joined Asmaa James to pay fees for Monica. Natasha said that she was impressed by Monica’s passion. She said, “I am impressed by your characters, Monica.”.

Monica thanked the judges and AYV for creating the platform for her.
