Kabaka Multimedia Entertainment’s (KME), an entertainment label in Sierra Leone, has signed Othman Tao,aka King Piper and Ahmed Mamb, aka Dove Mambu and Kracktwist, a former artist of the Empire.
According to Abu Bakarr Turay, aka, Kabaka the owner of the label, signing the artists was as a result of revitalizing Sierra Leone entertainment industry to the global level.
“KME aspires to overcome the industry’s difficulties, embrace modern advancements, and provide a platform for local artists to shine on both the national and international stages,” he said.
Kabaka said that there are prevalent challenges such as the premature closure of entertainment entities, the underutilization of modern marketing and streaming platforms and lack of recognition for talents within Sierra Leonean’s entertainment industry and said that those challenges would be solved if Sierra Leoneans could only work as one.
Kabaka said that the entertainment agenda of Sierra Leone has slightly weakened to the extent that neighboring West African countries have surged ahead in the realm of music.
He keenly expressed his firm belief in the power of the Arts, the necessity of making sacrifices to foster its growth and the need to work towards its development.
He extended his appreciation to past contributors of the entertainment industry who had played a significant role in transforming it into the successful business that it is today.
