Amara Gibril Kamara popularly known as Kuzie, a model in the West of Freetown, has won the Mr. Supermodel World Sierra Leone 2024 pageant recently held at the Paradise City Lounge at Lumley Beach in Freetown.
Kuzie was also awarded Best Talented Act in the competition.
According to him, he won the competition among other top models as a result of his confidence and commitment to his craft. “I captured the attention of the audience and the judges with my humility and friendliness. Above all, the support I had from God, my fans and my family made it possible for me. I thank you all for supporting me.”
Kuzie explained that modeling to him is more than wearing clothes and making a pretense, but rather, it is a lifestyle which serves as a source of joy.
He said that he wanted to change the narrative of Sierra Leone’s modeling industry with his talent. “That is one of the most reasons I participated in modeling competitions. In Sierra Leone, people see modeling as a dropout kind of job. So, I want to change that narrative. Arts and culture promotion is another significant reason for me to contest, as there are more to exhibit than what you’ve seen. I believe such a platform will serve as a stepping stone to uplifting the tagged-dead culture and art of my beloved country, Sierra Leone. With God and my humility, I’ll triumph. There is no force more powerful than a heart with a purpose,” he said. He advised people to be patient and to stay focus on working on their dreams.
Kuzie is a dancer, content creator, photographer and final year student at the University of Makeni pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications. Kuzie has won modeling competitions like Mr. BlueCrest 2019 and Mr. UniMak 2021.
Mr. Super Model Worldwide Sierra Leone is a competition that gives Sierra Leonean models an opportunity to expand their career. It was established to change the narrative of the modeling industry in Sierra Leone.
