Lifeline Nehemiah Receives International Award

For excellence service to vulnerable communities, Lifeline Nehemiah Projects (LNP), has been recognized with an international award as “most Enriching Vulnerable Community Support Organization 2024” from Acquisition International.

Speaking in an exclusive interview on Tuesday, the , Lifeline Nehemiah Projects Executive Director, Rev. Prince Tommy Williams thanked the LNP team for what he described as well-deserved award, adding that it is a testament to their passion and dedication to impact change in deprived and vulnerable communities.

He said because of their engagement with the community and hard work of the team, they received the award from the Acquisition International, citing that it is a kind of a plus not only to Lifeline but to Sierra Leoneans they are partnering with like the Ministry of Social Welfare, Ministry of Youth, Ministry of Health as they are also supporting them in what they are doing.

Rev. Williams stressed that they are working in deprived communities and their mandate is to work with community stakeholders to provide solutions to most of the difficult situations that disadvantage people, especially children, women and girls are facing in the community.

“We are into women and girls supporting pregnant girls and teenage mothers across Sierra Leone.

We also support young people, training them in vocational skills including electrical installation, plumbing, information and communication technology, hospitality and motor mechanic. We are also supporting young people in accessing education and shelter,” Rev. Williams said.

“We are also working with farmers in the rural area supporting them in the growing cash crops.  Over the years we have worked with over 400 farmers and most of them have expanded their farms and link them to market. Today, they have been able to take care of themselves and their families and contribute to community development.”

He opined that the award would motivate them to do more, adding that it shows that they have a team which is committed to rebuilding Sierra Leone.

Lifeline Nehemiah Projects have been making impact in Sierra Leone since 1992 and now works in eight districts in urban and rural settings, responding to issues identified by communities and working with them to solve problem.
