A new community-based organisation, the Fourah Bay Bombay Road Organisation, will be officially launched on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the Freetown Link International Hall, Mountain Cut, Central Freetown.

The organisation brings together locals and individuals from the diaspora with roots in the Fourah Bay Road, Bombay Street, Mammy Yoko, Patton Street, and the surrounding areas.

Its mission is to foster community and human development by providing scholarships to underprivileged and deserving students, improving access to water in communities, and empowering youth.

The organization’s home-based Chairman  Elkanah Harding, stated that the initiative was inspired by a desire to give back to their communities thereby contributing to national development.

“Empowering the youth and supporting education is our way of complementing the government’s efforts in national development,” Harding said.

Harding added that in addition to educational support, the organisation plans to donate to locals fostering its commitment to holistic community development.

Dignitaries, community leaders, and other stakeholders are expected to grace the launch to set the pace for impactful change in the Fourah Bay and Bombay Road communities.
