LRMG Supports Fifth Infantry Battalion Fire Victims

Leone Rock Metal Group (LRMG), a leading mining company in Sierra Leone, on May 12, 2023 donated building materials to the Fifth Infantry Battalion headquarters, Wilberforce Barracks in an effort to support the rebuilding of the community after a devastating fire incident. The donation items include a range of construction materials such as cement, paints, and tiles.

The Wilberforce Barracks, located in the heart of the community, provides a vital service to local residents by responding to emergencies and providing peace and stability during times of crisis. However, the barracks was severely damaged in a fire that broke out leaving the community without a central hub for emergency services.

The donation from LRMG will help to rebuild the barracks and ensure that the community has access to the emergency services they need. The materials will be used to rebuild the building structure and ensure that it is safe and secure for the soldiers and their families who reside there.

LRMG has a long history of supporting local communities through charitable donations. The company is committed to giving back to the communities in which it operates and beyond. LRMG believes that corporate social responsibility is an essential part of its operations.

Speaking about the donation, the Chief Technical Officer, LRMG, Mr Salim Sillah said, “We are proud to support the Wilberforce Fire victims and the important work they do for the local community and Sierra Leone. We hope that our donation will help to rebuild this vital service, and we look forward to seeing the Wilberforce barracks back up and running as soon as possible.”
