Man Arraigned for Allegedly Stealing over Le1bn

Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No.1 has remanded a shop assistant Mohamed Alamin Tarawally, 24, for allegedly stealing over one billion Leones.

 Mohamed Tarawally made his first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura on Monday on two counts charges of Office Breaking and Larceny.

According to the allegation, the accused on Sunday,  December  26, 2021 at Ali Ahmad Hudroge Enterprise, Kissy Dockyard in Freetown , stole US$80,000 (Le 960million) and also stole the sum of Le80 million.

 Magistrate Sahr Kekura did not admit accused to bail  based on the seriousness of the offence and quantum of money involved.

In another development, a commercial sex worker, Abibatu Bah has been granted  bail  with a bail bond  of Le250 million  by Magistrate Sahr Kekura after she is accused of stealing from one Sam Ghamloush, a customer at Roy Hotel, assorted mobile phones and other items worth over Le64 million.

Abibatu Bah made her first appearance before the court on two counts charge of Conspiracy to commit a crime and Larceny.

According to the particulars of offence, the accused on Saturday,  February 5, 2022 at room 102, Roy Hotel, along Lumley Beach Road, Aberdeen, conspired with other unknown persons and stole one Iphone 13 Pro-max, Samsung Galaxy S10 plus, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 plus, one small bag containing credit card, one Sierra Leone passport bearing the name Sam Ghamloush, US$2,550 and other items all to the total value of Le64, 230,000.

Abibatu did not fulfill the bail conditions and was taken to the female correctional centre.
