Management of the Bollore Transport and Logistics has assured employees of Freetown Terminal that if the sale of the Africa subsidiary is materialized by March next year it will have no native impact on their conditions of service and employment.

This assurance was given by the Regional Director of Bollore Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea, Captain Fabjanko  Kokan and the Country Manager Bertrand Kerguelen  at a news conference on Friday, April 8, 2022 in Freetown.

This came after MSC Group confirmed its interest in acquiring assets of Bollore transport and logistics located in Africa as well as the port concessions in India, Timor Leste and Haiti.

MSC is a world leader in global container shipping and a company that prides itself on offering global service with local knowledge.

Captain Kokan disclosure that, as part of the move to further inform authorities about the proposed sale of Bollore Africa, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Bollore Group – Cyrille Bolllore, Chairman of Bolloré Africa Logistics Congo – Philippe Christophe Labonne, and the President and CEO Of MSC Group – Diego Aponte last Wednesday engaged President Julius Maada Bio and Senior government officials on the future sale of the Bollore Africa.

He said that the CEO of Bollore Group expressed interest in investing in Agriculture in Sierra Leone. He said that sale will only materialize after fulfilling laws of the various countries where the sale will be effected. He said that Bollore prides itself as great respecter of laws, peoples, and authorities, adding that they are going by the books to  formalize the sale of the transport and logistics assets located in Africa.

“Our priority is to preserve the jobs of the people,” Capt. Kokan said.

Country Manager Kerguelen assured that they are not going to lay off any staff unless the staff so desire. He said that business will continue as usual if the sale is materialized.  He said that development of port facilities will continue, and new equipment will arrive shortly. He said that they would continue to meet their commitments to their partners, the authorities, customers and employees.
