Mogbwemo Queens Crown Female Premier League Champions

The Chief Executive Officer of the Champions of the first ever Sierra Leone Female League, Mogbwemo Queens has said that the team will start preparation earlier to represent the country for the first time as champions of their domestic league.

Emmanuel Sahr Tondoneh congratulated the team and technical staff for winning this year’s League and being the first team to win such competition.

Rashidatu Gas Kamara scored the only goal of the game at the 64th minute to secure the championship title for Mogbewemo Queens on Friday, March 31, 2023 at the Rutile Community Field in Bonth District to dash the hope of their top rival Kahunla Queens of wining the competition.

The Chairperson of the Sierra Leone Female Premier League Board, Asmaa James congratulated the Champions for winning the first-ever female premier league. “It has not been an easy task for us as a board, but we thank God for thus far,” she said.

She applauded the government of Sierra Leone through the President and First Lady, the Ministry of Sport, the National Sports Authority, and the media for their relentless support in ensuring they had a well-constructive football competition.

The Deputy Secretary of the Sierra Leone Football Association, Mohamed Benson Bawoh joined in congratulating the winners Mogbewemo Queens for making history.

The only goal scorer Rashidatu Gas Kamara appreciated her teammate, the technical team, and management for the confidence they reposed in them. She promised to do more for the team in pending competitions.

Kahunla Queens bagged the two top goal scorers with Kumba Z. Brima scored 26 goals while Matilda Kabba scored 19 goals with Allay Turay of Melena Queens scored 14 goals respectively.
