Munda Sandi Assumes Leadership of SALHOC, Pledges Dedication to Housing Development

Freetown, Sierra Leone – In a significant leadership transition at the Sierra Leone Housing Corporation (SALHOC), Joseph Munda Sandi has officially taken over as General Manager, succeeding Ing. Charles Musa. The formal handover ceremony, held in Freetown, was attended by senior management, the newly appointed Board of Directors, and representatives from key stakeholders.

The event, chaired by Deputy General Manager Emmanuel H. Tommy, highlighted the achievements of the outgoing General Manager and set the stage for the new leadership. Board Chairperson Madam Kadie Zorokong Kabba commended Ing. Musa for his six years of dedicated service and welcomed Sandi with assurances of the Board’s support in advancing SALHOC’s mission.

Anthony S. Jongowai, representing the National Commission for Privatisation (NCP), praised Ing. Musa’s tenure and urged Sandi to build on his predecessor’s accomplishments. He emphasized the pressing need for improved housing solutions in Sierra Leone, calling for innovative approaches to address the nation’s housing deficit.

In his farewell address, Ing. Musa reflected on his tenure with gratitude and officially handed over the leadership to Sandi, encouraging him to lead with vision and dedication.

Joseph Munda Sandi, in his inaugural address, expressed gratitude to President Julius Maada Bio for entrusting him with public office once again. He outlined his vision for SALHOC, emphasizing the importance of housing as a fundamental human right and a cornerstone of national development. Sandi pledged to work collaboratively with key ministries and stakeholders to achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 11, which focuses on sustainable cities and communities.

“The outgoing General Manager has done his best, and we will learn from both his successes and challenges,” Sandi remarked. He called on his team to demonstrate commitment and hard work, stating, “I am a friend to many but an enemy to laziness.”

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks from Deputy General Manager Emmanuel H. Tommy, marking the beginning of a new chapter in SALHOC’s leadership.
