National Pentecostal Mission Appeals for Calm After Nursery Tragedy

Freetown, Sierra Leone – The National Pentecostal Mission has urged calm in the wake of a tragic incident involving the deaths of two nursery pupils from its Pre-School. In a press release on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, the church called on the public to avoid speculation and social media commentary, stressing the importance of allowing the police to conduct their investigations unhindered.

The tragic event, which occurred on the evening of Tuesday, March 18, has left the church and its community in a state of grief. The Mission confirmed that the matter is currently under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Sierra Leone Police.

“The Church is fully cooperating with the authorities to ensure that all necessary inquiries are conducted swiftly and justly.
