U.S. Africa Movie Production is set to release a highly anticipated film titled Remission, a compelling drama aimed at highlighting the importance of parent-child relationships. Executive Producer Evelyn Grote, a Sierra Leonean and CEO of the production company, collaborated with Nigerian writer Solomon Freedom to create a story that delves into the emotional struggles of a young woman battling addiction while facing family neglect.
The film follows a woman who returns to Africa after years abroad, only to find herself caught between her addiction and the indifference of her career-focused parents. As her health deteriorates, a shocking revelation emerges—the family’s cook, who offers to save her life through a kidney donation, is her biological mother. This twist intensifies the film’s exploration of adoption, identity, and family ties.
Solomon Freedom hopes Remission serves as a wake-up call for parents to prioritize their children over careers. “This film reminds us that our children, especially our daughters, need our love and attention above all else,” he said.
Remission is expected to captivate audiences with its emotional depth and thought-provoking storyline, addressing critical issues like addiction, family neglect, and the power of unexpected connections. Fans of African cinema are eagerly awaiting its release.
