Newtonians Donates Metal Doors to Ahmadiyya Secondary School

The Newtonians organization has donated metal doors worth Le30,000  for the rehabilitation of the Ahmadiyya Agricultural Secondary School at Newton located twenty -four miles from the capital, Freetown.

The Organization handed over the doors on October 6, 2024, at the main school hall.

The event was attended by headmen and stakeholders from different parts of Newton.

The Chief Adviser of the organization, Magistrate Alpha Rashid Jalloh, a former pupil of the school, recalled that the school was established in 1977 by the late Hon. Hassan Gbessay Kanu and prominent stakeholders in the community. He recalled that Plan International initially funded the construction of the current buildings of the School. He said it was established at a time when the only school accessible to children of residents of Newton was located at Waterloo, four miles away from Newton.

He said Newtonians have joined the clarion call to enhance the realization of the Free Quality Education dream brought to fruition by His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio.

Mr. Jalloh said whatever benefits the nation would also benefit Newton because Newton is a miniature of the nation-state. He said the Newtonian organization has the intention to render help to more schools within the environs soon.

Other speakers at the event including the president of Newtonians Abdul Lofombo Koroma, DR Ahmed Kamara, and Abiose Bassie, all of whom lauded the effort of the organization in improving the lives of Newton residents.
