Okada Rider Remanded For Aggravated Robbery

Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Ross Road Court No. 1 in Freetown has remanded one Joseph Sampha Conteh, a 29 year old resident of  Grassfiled , for allegedly robbing Foday Mansaray of his TVS motorbike valued at NLe18,000.


Sampha Conteh was arrested on 2nd of May 2023 by Detective Police Constable 13823 Bangura, and he is now remanded at the Male Correctional Center on Pademba Road in Freetown.
The accused appeared before the court to answer for the following offences : conspiracy to commit a felony contrary to the law, robbery with aggravation, wounding with intent , wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The allegation against the accused is that on Monday the 8th of August 2022 at Mende Church, Black Hall Road, Kissy, Freetown, conspired with unknown persons to commit the felony of robbery with aggravation.
It was alleged that the accused armed with a machete robbed his victim,  one Foday Mansaray, of his TVS motorbike valued at eighteen Thousand Leones (NLe18,000) property of Gibrilla Kanu, while in custody of Foday Mansaray.
The charged sheet furthered that the accused, on the same date and place in Freetown, assaulted and wounded the complainant in a manner thereby causing him grievous bodily harm. When the matter was mentioned, the police prosecutor Assistant Superintendent (ASP), Osman M. Bangura, informed the court that the Investigating Officer had arrested another suspect, and that the prosecution wanted to send the file for consolidation for which they applied and were granted leave by the court.
The accused was denied bail and remanded at the Male Correctional Center on Pademba Road in Freetown. The matter was adjourned to 31st of May 2023 for further hearing.
