Old Edwardians Chairman steps down

Chairman of the Old Edwardians Football Club Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai Esq. has resigned as chairman of the Old Edwardians Football Club after serving for eleven years.

Posting his resignation on Twitter, the former chairman said, “I just informed the Pres. of Old Edwardians Association of my decision to resign effective immediately as Chair of Old Edwardians . After 11 yrs, time to seek a new venture- grassroots football.  Grateful for the opportunity. Remain a fan of OEFC.”

Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai is a courageous human rights lawyer, a the publisher of Sierra Leone’s News Watch newspaper, and one of the founders of the Renaissance Movement of Sierra Leone, made up of youth who want to improve their country.  Abdulai is also the director of the Society for Democratic Initiatives (SDI), a non-partisan and not-for-profit organization that provides legal representation for activists, journalists, and political victims in Sierra Leone.
