Osman Yaah and Adeola Carew win OSVP 4th Edition

Osman Yaah, the founder and CEO of Auto-Smart irrigation Company SL, who innovated the use of mobile phones to provide water for farms within the Country or any part of the world, has won Le 100, 000 (new Leones.) from Mobile Orange Mobile company.

Orange Mobile company on September 1st, 2022 also gave Le 50,000 New Leones to Adeola Carew as another winner of the Orange Social Venture Prize ( OSVP) 4th Edition 2022 at an

event which took place at Orange Headquarter       at Hill Station in Freetown.

Yaah won the grand prize of one hundred million Leones while Ms. Adeola Carew of Safe space Sierra Leone won the sum of Fifty Thousand Leones.

According to Yaah the system he innovated is the first digital agricultural irrigation system in Sierra Leone, and he is working on producing large quantities for sale within and outside Sierra Leone.

Adeola Carew, the founder and CEO of Safe Space Sierra Leone, attracted the judges’ attention of the judges with her business initiative as she explained the ways in which the mobile application produced through Safe Space helps promote reproductive health and minimize Gender-Based Violence.

After winning, she expressed excitement on how far the project has gone and the impact it could  make on not just women’s life but family life and the nation as a whole. She added that it will make the community safe to share their problems without fear, and that the organization has created a sexual reproductive Mobile App to ease queuing and easy means of getting solutions.

The CEO of Orange Sierra Leona Mr. Seiku Amadou Bah said OSVP had been initiated 12 years, before but had been introduced in Sierra Leone in 2019.
