Pastor Arraigned for Operating Security Agency without License

Sergeant 8687 Mohamed Bundu attached to the Integrated Intelligence Service at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) headquarters on Pademba Road Freetown, and currently attached to the Office of National Security has on Monday 12th August 2024 testified before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No.2 in an alleged case of Fraud.

While in the witness stand he confirmed knowing PW1 and Musu Aroun Conteh at the ONS office, and also the Office of National Security.

He recalled that on the 5th of July, 2024 while on duty at the ONS madam Musu Conteh asked him to pick up the accused person at Model junction.

Sergeant Bundu furthered that before going to pick the accused person Madam Conteh explained briefly the reasons for doing so.

“We then picked up the accused at Model junction with a vehicle and while we were in the car I asked the accused person the cost of the security guard and his office location, the witness could not give me the cost, but he told me that he had thirty personnel in five locations,” he said.

The police witness said that their arrival at the ONS office presented the accused to Madam Conteh who asked the accused for the certificate of registration for the security company and the accused responded that he was yet to complete the registration of his company.

He said at that juncture Madam Conteh informed the accused person that he works for the ONS and that his failure to register his company is a matter for investigation and she instructed him to take the accused to the Criminal Investigation Department Headquarters at Pademba Road Freetown; which he did.

After his testimony the witness was cross examined by Chernor Kamara Esq. and also renewed his previous Bail applications on behalf of the accused person.

Magistrate Bangura however refused bail because of public policy consideration and adjourned the matter to the 14th of August 2024 for further hearing.

It could be recalled that the thirty-eight-year old Pastor Fatorma Tommy Jusu, who is the proprietor was arraigned before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No.2 in Freetown for the offence of Operating a Private Security without a valid license.

According to the particulars of offence on the 5th of July 2024 at No: 59c Leicester Road in Freetown was operating a private security agency without valid license from the Office of National Security.
