Sheku Gibril Koroma popularly known as Sheku G., a Sierra Leonean philanthropist based in London, will on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 commence the construction of the third mosque in Bramaia chiefdom in Kambia District, as one of his ways of helping humanity.
Koroma said that he had built a mosque at Moribaya and M’bendia which are sub towns in Bramaia, and two mosques in Guinea.
“This time, I am erecting a mosque in Kukuna, the chiefdom headquarter town. Looking at the rate in which the population and Muslims are growing in the Chiefdom, I thought it fit that there is a need to build a mosque for them. I realized that they don’t only need money, but also something that will serve them and their unborn generations,” Koroma explained.
He stated that having seen his forefathers helped the communities positively and him being a humanitarian, he decided to work with every stakeholder to foster cohesion, peace and sustainable development mostly in Bramaia chiefdom.
According to Koroma, all that he had done and still doing in the chiefdom, are not because of the eye seen of men, but for the fear of God and his life after death. “I realized that all the riches, houses etc. will be left on this earth. We came to this earth with nothing, so we have to go. The only thing we can take along in our graves is what we have done when we were alive. You can only reap what you have sowed.”
He said unity being a strength, encourages everyone to love one another. “We can build a better Bramaia with unity, peace and development,” he concluded.
Many a resident of the chiefdom said that they appreciated Koroma for his kind supports towards the chiefdom and its residents. They said Koroma is a kind of philanthropist every society should pray for.
According to them, he had helped many youths in the chiefdom to attain their degrees in different universities in Sierra Leone. “He had helped complete many unfinished schools and mosques in this chiefdom. During the month of Ramadan, he always supplies us food and many other necessary things. Recently, he bought us a cow with some food items to start constructing the mosque in Kukuna. So, we are proud of him, and we pray that God bless him and his family abundantly,” said the residents.
