Alpha Bash Osman Kamara, 35, a police officer, was on Tuesday, February 1, 2024, made to appear before Magistrate Sahr Kehkura of Pademba Road Court No 1 in Freetown, on the allegation of murder.
The accused was arraigned for Murder Contrary to section 1 of the Offense Against the Person Act 1861 as repealed and replaced by section (1)(a) to the schedule of the Abolition of Death Penalty Act No 6 of 2022.
The charge sheet when read in court stated that the accused on Monday, January 1, 2023 at New London, Kossoh Town Freetown, Murdered one Issa Kanu.
Haven heard the charges and the accused not represented by a Lawyer, Magistrate Sahr Kehkura ordered for the accused to be remanded in custody and adjourned the matter to the February 9, 2024, for further hearing.
