The Sierra Leone Police Hospital at Kingtom has been providing health services not only to Police personnel but equally to community members over the years.
Owing to the above, the SLP Hospital Management on 2nd February 2023, under the supervision of Dr. John Conteh, head of Hospital Management and the Hospital Matron, DSP Kaday Hannah Turay, embarked on Community Sensitization, targeting three communities, Kolleh Town; Assenssion Town and Kroo Bay.
Community Health Sensitization was undertaken following the directive of the Inspector General of Police, Mr. William Fayia Sellu.
The Community Health Sensitization covered subjects on antenatal and postnatal, complimentary breastfeeding, Immunization and hygiene.
The personnel played a very significant role in the Sensitization exercise are: head of Admin, ASP Dauda S. Koroma; Nutritionist, Inspector Zainab J. Sesay; focal lead of Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI); Inspector Francis Conteh; Hospital Matron, DSP Kaday Hannah Turay; Head of Public Health, Dr. Mohamed Bangura; and the Medical Superintendent, Dr. Kenneth Kallay.
“This is an ongoing process which caters not only for police personnel but also for community members,” Dr. John Conteh reaffirmed.
The weighing of malnourished children, and the distribution of treated mosquito bed nets climaxed the ceremony.
