President Pays Tribute to Late PC Kaimachainde III

President Dr Julius Maada Bio on Saturday February 12, 2022, paid tribute to the late Paramount Chief Member of Parliament, Sahr Fengai Korgbende Kaimachainde III, saying the death of the influential traditional leader is a big loss to the Kono people and the nation.

The late Paramount Chief, who was born on 24 November 1936 and died on 11 January 2022, was buried in his hometown of Gbense in the Gbense Chiefdom. He was elected in 2003 as Paramount Chief.

President Bio described the late PC as a development oriented leader,and referred to his passing on to eternity as a gap that would be difficult to fill up, adding that the late PC was the sole indigenous pioneer of the turning of the sod for the construction of the Kono University of Science and Technology.

President Julius Maada Bio referred to the ceremony as a celebration of life of a man he said held the values of education to the highest esteem. He therefore urged all mourners and sympathizers to maintain and protect the legacies of the remarkable things that the late chief left.

“As we celebrate the life of the great fallen hero, it is also time for us to reflect on all the good things he did for Kono. On behalf of the government and the people, I want to extend our sympathy to the family and the  entire Kono people. May God grant him merciful judgment”, President Bio concluded.

President Julius Maada Bio was accompanied by his lovely and beautiful wife, Mrs Fatima Bio, the Honorable Vice President, Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, both of whom are indigenes of Kono; senior government ministers, and heads of different parastatals.
