Seven Sentenced to Two Months for Loitering

Seven accused persons, Alfud Kamara, Santos Dumbuya, Abu Bakarr  Kamara, Morris Dukalay, Amidu Mansaray, Idrissa Kanu and Hassan Marrah were sentenced to two months in prison  or pay a fine of Le200,000 each to the state after they pleaded guilty to one count charge of loitering contrary to section 7 of the Public Order Act No.46 of 1965.

The accused pleaded guilty on their first appearance before Magistrate Lodonnette Macauley of Pademba Road Court No.5.

According to the particulars of offence, the accused  on Thursday,  December 1, 2022 at Crabtown Lumley in Freetown were found loitering.

Counsel representing the accused persons B. Bangura and J.A.M.M. Amara pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy.

However, Magistrate Macauley sentenced the accused persons to two months imprisonment or pay a fine of two hundred thousand Leones each to the State.
