UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta H. Fore has on Friday June 19, 2020 recognized 1DT LABS, a firm providing Information Communication Technology service in Sierra Leone, as a company taking the lead in creating digital platforms to solve local problems and a key player in the countries development.
The UNICEF boss made the statement at the launch of the Secretary-General’s Roadmap for Digital Cooperation-Dialogue on implementation of the Roadmap, during a Video Conference held last Friday.
The Executive Director described the company as a leading driver in identifying problems and providing global solutions through digital platforms that are scalable across the country.
She further commended IDT Labs’ for the developing and implementing Automated Worker Registration and Payroll Database for the Ebola response workers, which had been executed at the height of the Ebola crisis in 2014 when there was a huge problem of the majority of the Ebola Response Workers (ERW) not receiving their hazard payment on time.
IDT Labs was declared Winner of the 2016 Responsible Business Award in the International Disaster Relief Category. IDT Labs is an lCT company with a focus on envisioning, designing and implementing technology solutions for development in West Africa, and it has been delivering high quality and customized ICT solutions for governments, organizations and businesses wanting to tackle social, developmental and economic challenges since 2013.
In 2013, 1DT Labs launched the first West African digital platform for jobs, CAREERS-sL, which connects job seekers and employers; making Labour markets work better.
The portal wanted to address the lack of good opportunities and high search costs for job seekers, and the unavailability of suitable candidates for employers.
Because running a business is hard work, managers and business owners need to make sure that their customers are satisfied, while keeping their employees motivated and performing well.
The IDT HR Cloud Services are designed to automate the day-to-day management of Human Resource activities so that managers and business owners could concentrate on growing their operations while ensuring that their best assets (the employees) are taken care of.
