Sources close to the Ross Road Police Station have revealed that a 22=year-old woman, Adamsay Fofanah, formerly of No 27 Effort Lane, Cline Town, Freetown, was found dead in her room in the early hours of Friday December 18, 2020. She is reasonably suspected to have ended her life.
According to Issa Conteh, husband to the deceased, he left the deceased at home in the early hours of the said date for his place of work at the Queen Elizabeth II Quay, and that he had barely arrived at his place of work when his wife, the deceased, phoned him and told him that he would not meet her at home when he returns from work. He said he was unaided and perplexed at his wife for saying such a thing, and that he tried to enquire from her as to what she was implying, but that she could not say anything to him. He added that as soon as he had arrived at his place of work, he received a phone call from one of his neighbours by the name of Osman, who intimated to him that his wife had been found dead in their room.
Issa Conteh said that on receipt of this information, he rushed home and found a crowd which included police officers at his residence where she found her lifeless.
A team of CID personal from the Ross Road Police Station, including the Scene of Crime Officer, Detective Police Constable 17308 Kamara K., later arrived at the scene, retrieved the corpse and conveyed it to the mortuary at Connaught Hospital where an autopsy is expected to be conducted by the Government Pathologist, Doctor Simeon Owizz Koroma, to ascertain the course of death.
Police at the Ross Road Police Station have confirmed the incident, stating that they are investigating the said incident with a view to establishing the reasons that may have lead the deceased to commit suicide.
