As a way of getting Leone Stars in a superb readiness ahead of the crucial encounter against Lesotho, Sierra Leone’s is set to play the Chipolopolo of Zambia which would be hosted by the Zambian Football Association.
According to Mr. Ibrahim Kamara, Head of Media at the Sierra Leone Football Association, SLFA President Isha Johansen and Zambian Football Federation (FAZ) President Andrew Kamanga agreed that the match will be played at the National Heroes Stadium on Monday March 22, 2021.
He said that the proposed “closed door international friendly” is part of Leone Stars’ preparation ahead of Sierra Leone’s penultimate match in the ongoing AFCON Qualifiers against Lesotho.
Meanwhile, the General Secretaries of the two federations; Christopher Kamara (SLFA) and Adrian Kashala (FAZ) are currently engaged in talks to ensure proper management of the said friendly match.
Leone stars recently had a fine performance against Nigeria in a double header. A win against Lesotho and Benin will possibly see Leone Stars qualify to the African Cup of Nation after many years if other results prove favorable.
Leone Stars currently 3rd in the current AFCON qualifying table with just 3 points.
