The National Secretary General of the main opposition All Peoples Congress (APC) party, Amb. Dr. Alhaji Osman Foday Yansaneh, has said that the party will challenge President Bio’s appointment of Mr. Mohamed Konneh as proposed Chief Electoral Commissioner of NEC in court.
He made this statement on Wednesday July 22, 2020, when he was asserting that the APC was not among parties which constituted a group under the banner of the All Political Parties Association (APPA) which had earlier visited President Bio.
He said that, contrary to the claims of the All Political Parties Association through its President, the APC did not participate in any meeting.
He revealed that the APC will soon go to court, but they were just waiting to see whether parliament is inclined to confirm his appointment. “We still stand on section 32 (4) of 1991 constitution to enforce strict adherence because he [Mr Mohamed Konneh] is not qualified according to the requirements to serve in that capacity,” he said.
