Sierra Leone: Classic Sound Record contracts five musicians

Classic Sound Record, a music recording label in the east of Freetown, has signed a contract with five local musicians: Emmanuel George Gbondo, aka “Church Boy”, Samuel Yamah aka “F. Boy”, Sylvester Wray commonly known as “Wizzy Wray”, James Samuel Tholly popularly known as “Jay Sam”, Ibrahim Barrie also known as “Elta” and Daniel Alex Komba Kono whose stage name “Dannylo Wize” after completion of audition on Saturday February 6, 2021.

According to Emmanuel George, the Chief Executive Officer of the label, the five musicians who were signed by the label went through a thorough audition that was judged by music professionals.

He said that the aim of the audition was to get the most talented musicians who would be able to deliver in any situation.

He said the Label was formed to spot upcoming musicians have access to studio and make their records.

He said, “The label aims at supporting the upcoming musicians who have talent but could not afford to go to the big studios. We believe that the future of the music industry lies in the hands of the upcoming musicians.”

George started a career in music as a church goer at age seven. He explained that in 2015 he started producing music and has recently produced over 12 songs.

He furthered that he usually produces music with Mix pad, Flute loop studio, Cubase and Logic which are all music producing tools.

George could play the Guitar, Keyboard, Seven drums and Trumpet.

He encouraged entertainers and the stakeholders in the industry to be united in order to help the industry grow to another level.
