Dr kitty Fadlu Deen, one of the founding members of the Ballanta Academy of Music and Performing Arts, was on Wednesday September 2, 2020 robbed of her car and mobile phone at her residence at Babadorie in the west of Freetown. According to Dr. Deen, after she heard a knock on her door, she opened and saw a well-dressed stranger who rush into her house, grabbed her mouth and pushed her to the gust corner.
“The man started squeezing my mouth trying to pour in some kind of liquid, and then he pulled a gun and pointed it at me, when I tried to scream. He then took my car keys and my phone, moved out, and then drove off.” She explained that the intruder gained entry into the compound at about 8:45 am. under the pretext that he had come to deliver a letter to her. He was lowed to enter the compound by the security.
According to her granddaughter, the security asked the stranger to call her grandmother. Her granddaughter said: “The stranger pretended as if he was talking to someone on the phone, after a while the stranger told the security that he had spoken with grandma and that he must go in. The security then allowed him.”
According to the eyewitness, the rubber drove with one hand on the wheel and held the gun on the other.
The police asserted the attack indicate a new mode of criminal operations.
