The Sierra Embassy in Egypt has facilitated the repatriation of a two-year-old boy in Sierra Leone after the death of a Sierra Leonean mother Miss Aminata Doumbouya in Cairo on November 16, 2020.
According to the Information Attaché, Mohamed B. Kallon, since the death of the mother, the two-year-old toddler has been living with his aunt Mariama Toure, whilst the Embassy assist with facilitation process by providing the necessary documentation.
“Madam Mariama Toure travelled with the child to Sierra Leone on February 12, 2021 on board Royal Air Maroc flight AT273 and arrived in Conakry on Saturday February 13, 2021. On arrival in Conakry, Mariama Toure travelled with Alhassan E Bangoura to Kambia on Monday February 15, 2021. Both the child and Aunt have arrived in Freetown and the child is now staying with his uncle Mr. Mohamed Dumbuya in Freetown,” Kallon said.
Kallon mentioned that the Embassy provided the necessary documents including the cost for the COVID-19 test result, the cost for regularization of stay, a box load of food and clothing materials for the boy, transit allowance, and a little pause to sustain them for the meantime.
