Sierra Leone: Gov’t relieves serving member named in White Paper

Few days after the reports of the Commissions of Inquiry, 2020 and the  White Paper for public servants adjudged to have acted improperly with respect to the use of public funds, the Government of Sierra Leone has relieved all persons currently serving in the Bio led administration of their duties with immediate effect until the appeal process is concluded.

According to a press release issued on Monday 5th, October 2020 by the government of Sierra Leone through the office of  Press secretary and Presidential Spokesman His Excellency Bio “directed that all current civil/public servants, who have been named in the reports of the commissions of inquiry, 2020 and the accompanying white papers for acting improperly with respect to the use of public funds, are relieve of their duties with immediate effect until the appeal process is concluded.”

It could be recalled that since Bio led government took over the reins of governance it has been embarking on the fight against corruption, thus resulting in the government White Paper.
