Ibrahim B. Kargbo aka Ib4, the CEO of Legacy Pictures, a local Movie Production group in the East of Freetown, has on Wednesday June 10, 2020, said that the group recently produced a movie titled ‘Coronavirus is Dangerous’ to raise awareness, as the Country continues to battle the Coronavirus.
Kargbo is a movie director, DOP and movie editor who has directed movies like: ‘Misery of Life’, ‘The Oath’, ‘Compound Witch’, ‘Letter to the Princess’ and ‘Big Witch.’
Kargbo stated that the movie depicts how one should prevent the negative effects of the coronavirus to help prevent its spread by observing all preventive measures prescribe by health practitioners.
He added that the group believes that sensitizing through motion pictures would take awareness-raising messages on the deadly coronavirus to the different regions of the nation.
He explained that the group had been established in July 9, 2018, with the aims of helping people to realize their potentials, be self-dependent and to live in their dreams as entertainers, adding that the group deals with both music and movie.
Kargbo stated that the organization always open its doors to talented youths who do not have much opportunity to grow in their careers. He added that they have produced good actors and actresses in the country today.
He said that they use to promote the sales of the movies they produce from door to door, but the necessity to maintain social distance since the outbreak of the coronavirus has made it impossible.
He also said that they tried doing rehearsals online, but that has caused them to waste a lot of time only to end with a very poor production.
He commented, “To maintain social distancing and avoid crowd we created a WhatsApp forum where we usually do our rehearsals but that contributes less to the improvement of our production. The virus has affected all aspects of entertainment industry in this nation.”
He advised that, in an effort to combat the deadly disease in the nation everyone should come together.
