Sierra Leone: Leone Stars move training camp

Just a few days after the government of Sierra Leone lifts a partial ban on National teams to carry on their preparations, Sierra Leone senior male team, Leone Stars has moved their training camp to the Makeni Wusum Field,  Makeni City.

Head Coach of Leone Stars, John Keister said on Wednesday that the  five-day intensive training is part of preparation for the friendly match against Mauritania in Nouakchott and also the back to back Africa Cup of Nation (AfCON) qualifier match against Nigeria on October 9, 2020.

The Head Coach reiterated that they have extended invitation to 13 foreign based players and there will be a reduction in the number of home based players for the proposed friendly match.

He said that five-day training session at the Makeni Wusum Field is to ensure that home-based players concentrate on the training  ahead of the national assignment.

A delegation of 31 shortlisted home-based players and 11 officials arrived in the City of Makeni yesterday for a five-day camping and intensive training.
