Sierra Leone: Local movie makers to release new film

Abdul Salam Turay, director of New Generation Network, a local movie making organization in Sierra Leone, will release a film titled: “Lohe and Lohehe,” at the end of October 2020.

He spoke to Premier news on Wednesday October 21, 2020, saying that the Title of the Movie is a set of names in Mende which were given to twins, who are the leading cast in the movies.

According to Turay, the movie portrays drama, love and comedy, and it also advises parents on how to look after their children in both favorable and adverse circumstances amidst the changes and chances which may occur in life.

Director said that, the movie also teaches stepmothers a moral lesson to be fair in their treatment of step-children.

“’Mates usually badly treat their step children and always pray for their downfall not knowing that, he who God has blessed no one curses,” he said.

He said that the movie also teaches love is the answer to everything.

“When love reigns in any relationship there will be success, and hatred is the key to backwardness,” he insisted.

Salam said that NGN is a new movie group in the east of Freetown which was established to promote, change the face and make a difference in Sierra Leone’s movie industry.

He said that Lohe and Lohehe is the first movie done by the group, adding that the Network faced great difficulty in getting the media to do their adverts because of the outbreak of the Coronavirus.
