Sierra Leone loses by 2-0 to Egypt’s Pharaohs

Seven times African Champions Egypt has on Sunday November 19th 2023 defeated Sierra Leone’s senior men’s national team Leone Stars by 2-0 in the ongoing African World Cup Qualifiers at the Samuel Kayan Doe Stadium in Monrovia Liberia. Leone stars fought bravely despite losing to the African Champions. In the 18th minute the visiting team took the lead by Mohamed Trezeguet, and he scored again in 62nd minute.

It was a good game, but a difficult result to take as Egypt recorded their first win over Sierra Leone in three attempts. Nine-man Sierra Leone suffer 2-0 loss to Egypt as the Pharoahs top Group A with 6 points.

Sierra Leone’s Tyrese Fornah was sent off in the 37th minute and Sierra Leone finished the match with 9 man after Abdul Kabia was also sent off in the 90th minute.  before the end of the match. Amadou Bakayako was thrown into the fray when Mohamed Buya Turay was substituted, and he made several scoring attempts at the visiting goalkeeper.

Coach Amidu Karim has to re-group for the next fixture as Sierra Leone currently lies bottom of Group A with a point.
