The Chief Executive Officer of Lake Production, Alhaji K. Mansaray (Aka LAJ.K) has on Tuesday December 8, 2020 said that after putting much efforts, the National COVID-19 Emergency Response Centre (NaCOVERC) has disapproved their proposed mask-up concert with global hit maker Kizz Daniel on January 16, 2021 in Freetown.
According to Laj K, NaCOVERC’s disapproval puts to waste the considerable time, efforts, energy and resources which they had already put in preparing for the show. He said that NaCOVERC does not consider the concerts as the right vehicle for sensitization considering health measures instituted in the fight against COVID-19 despite their best efforts.
“We kindly ask for resolve and patience from all Kizz Daniel fans as we continue to battle this out. Payment has already been made for this event with regards hotel, air flight, transportations, media campaigns and other expenses,” he added.
He said that they continue engagements with NaCOVERC and the Government of Sierra Leone to postpone the show to a subsequent date that would be approved by NaCOVERC.
“It’s disheartening and heartbreaking to inform the entertainment Industry and the General Public that our proposed January 16th Show in Freetown with global hit maker, Kizz Daniel continues to face challenges,” Mansaray said.
He furthered that the management of LAKE Production (SL) Limited had initially decided to use the event to embark on a massive National Mask up Campaign.
“It was arranged that the event would follow and adhere to all COVID-19 preventions etc. It was also our aim of distributing twenty thousand masks (20,000) on the day of the event. That, we thought will help to remind people that the Coronavirus is still with us and that the disease is very real,” he said.
According to Laj K., the musician in question (including a host of other stars) KIZZ DANIEL, has been one of the most consistent artistes in Africa.
He firmly asserted that no other Nigerian artiste has come close to releasing the number of hits songs Kizz Daniel has released in the past twelve months.
He reiterated that LAKE Production is now left with an option to carry on with the National Entertainment Awards (NEA 2020) that will take place on the 23rd December, at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Aberdeen.
